Teenager Dies After Being Stabbed in Woolwich: Last Words Were “Don’t Let Me Die
A heartbreaking event unfolded in Woolwich, southeast London, where a 15-year-old boy was stabbed and died shortly after. A woman who tried to help him shared his last words as he lay injured, saying, “I’m 15; don’t let me die.”
What Happened?
The police received a call about a disturbance on Eglinton Road, Woolwich, around 6:30 PM on Sunday. They rushed to the scene, where they found the boy with a serious stab wound. Sadly, he died shortly after.
Witness Tried to Help
A woman who lives nearby heard the screams and ran outside to help. She saw the boy lying on the road with much blood around him. She quickly tried to stop the bleeding until paramedics arrived.
The witness said, “I was covered in his blood, but I told him, ‘You’re not going to die, mate.'”
The Boy Was Well-Mannered
The woman, who had seen the boy around the neighborhood before, described him as a polite and respectful young man. It was unfortunate for her to see such a tragedy happen.
No Arrests So Far
The police are still investigating the case, but no one has been arrested. They have set up a crime scene and are working to find more information. The boy’s family has been informed, and they are grieving his loss.
Mayor’s Response
A spokesperson for London Mayor Sadiq Khan expressed deep sorrow over the event. The mayor promised that more police patrols would be conducted in the area to keep the streets safe from such violence.
