Oxford Street Might Soon Be Traffic-Free Under New Plan by London Mayor Sadiq Khan

A Traffic-Free Oxford Street Sadiq Khan’s plan will stop vehicles from driving on a 0.7-mile section of Oxford Street between Oxford Circus and Marble Arch. The goal is to improve the experience for shoppers, workers, residents, and tourists.

Current Vehicle Restrictions Right now, only buses and taxis are allowed to use Oxford Street between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., except on Sundays. This new plan will completely block traffic, making the area safe and pleasant for pedestrians.
